HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Wicksburg football Head Coach, Josh Cox, has taken his team to the playoffs six times in the last seven years. But the panthers haven’t been able to get past the first round since 2017.

This seems to be the year for the Panthers though, with nine seniors, one being his own son, Cox has been with this group for a long time. But his motto stays the same.

Josh Cox stated. “I tell the boys to do what you’re supposed to be doing and most of the time you’ll stay out of trouble and we have a motto in our weight room that says life begins when comfort ends. And I think that’s something that we always go by going in the weight room trying to get stronger each year.”

With three returning on the offensive line and eight on the dark side of the ball. The Panthers look to be led by running back Jaylen Murry who last season rushed for over 1,700 yards.
