WICKSBURG, Ala. (WDHN) — Ashton White of the Wicksburg Panthers also signed her NLI today.

White will take her talents to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

During White’s tenure at Wicksburg she has been a multi sport athlete, even kicking on the football team.

She’s started on the varsity softball team since she was in seventh grade.

White has been named to the AHSAA All-State softball team and a member of the North-South All-Star team.

In her junior year for the Panthers she had a batting average of .544, 64 RBIs, 15 home runs, and 1.064 slugging.

White’s brother is a junior at the United States Naval Academy and he has inspired her desire to go to a service academy.

“I wanted to go to serve,” White said. “That was the starting plan and then softball came into it. I started talking with their coach in the eighth grade and fell in love with their program, their coaching and just how they run things up there. It’s definitely my better sport. It’s my favorite sport. I fell in love with it when I was seven years old.”

White’s signature makes her the tenth member of the 2019 state runner up team to play ball in college.

She’s been recruited to play third base for the Black Knights.
