WICKSBURG, Ala. (WDHN) — Wicksburg High School’s Kara Cox signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball for Enterprise State.

Cox has been a starter on varsity for Wicksburg since seventh grade.

In her junior season for the Panthers Cox had a .379 batting average, 17 stolen bases, a .507 on base percentage and .431 slugging.

Cox believes her defense and positive attitude will be great assets to the Boll Weevils.

After a difficult recruiting season she says she feels relieved to be keeping her talents close to home and thanks Wicksburg for getting her to where she is now.

“The coaches here have been great and they’ve taught me a lot about everything that I know right now and I’m planning to take that to Enterprise State with me and see if I can help the other teammates as well,” Cox said.

As Kara put pen to paper she became the ninth member of the 2019 state runner up team to continue her softball career at the next level.

She’ll likely play infield at ESCC.
