DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — High school baseball playoffs are in full swing in statewide.
Multiple Wiregrass teams are headed into the next round this Friday.
Dothan High is headed to Central-Phenix City for the Class 7A quarterfinals.
The Wolves lost to the Red Devils in February, but this time around Head Coach Alex Sanford feels confident due to the depth of his lineup.
“That puts an emphasis on there’s not a weak spot in our lineup currently,” Sanford said. “They can look at all the guys that have signed scholarships and think hey, we can just control those guys, but there’s guys at the bottom of the lineup that are picking us up which I think can make it a very dangerous combination for us.”
As Dothan moves on in the second round of 7A play, our Wiregrass 1A-3A teams advance to their third round.
In Class 3A, Providence Christian will take on T.R. Miller.
2A we’ll have Cottonwood at Ariton and Ranburne at G.W. Long.
Each of the matchups are double headers on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. with a tiebreaker scheduled for Saturday if needed.
In 1A, Brantley is at Kinston on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. with an if necessary game scheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m.
