UPDATE: 8:00 p.m.

The roadway is back open on South Oates Street after being closed for several hours on Friday night.

ALDOT is reporting the roadway as being cleared from Friday’s tractor-trailer wreck and reopened, with some markings still advising caution at this time.

Dothan Utilities have also removed the outage from their outage map, indicating power as being restored in the affected area in the southern portion of Dothan.

Those still experiencing issues should contact Dothan Utilities for additional support.

UPDATE: 5:06 p.m.

Powerline is down on 231 South near Southgate and Inez Road due to a truck catching a low wire. There are a few broken poles that are causing traffic to back up. There is a crew on site working as quickly as possible. It will take approximately about an hour to get the road cleared and then another two hours to get power restored.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A vehicle crash has caused a power outage in Dothan.

Responders are on the scene of a crash with power lines down on South Oates and Southgate Road, according to officials.

Please avoid the area until further notice due to Dothan Utilities replacing lines and traffic congestion.
