DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Meteorologist Andrew Clarke has your daily walk the dog forecast sponsored by Wet Pets of Dothan!
Expect scattered showers to develop and move across the region this afternoon thanks to ample moisture in place via southerly flow from the Gulf and the heating of the day. A few of these storms will have the potential to become strong to briefly severe, with damaging winds the main threat. However, we cannot rule out the chance for an isolated spin-up tornado either. Highs will be very warm once again in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Thus, if you’re looking to take your dog out on a stroll today, you definitely need to make sure you’re paying attention to the weather! I would recommend going during the morning to avoid any potential storms later on. But, if you do want to go during the afternoon, a very short walk between showers and storms would be okay as well. Make sure though that you check the radar on the WDHN Weather app before heading out during that time specifically so that you and your furry companion can avoid getting soaked while outdoors. Have a great Wednesday!
