DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Meteorologist Andrew Clarke has your daily walk the dog forecast sponsored by Wet Pets of Dothan!
The line of showers and storms that continues to move through the region this morning will exit off to the southeast in the next hour or so. After that, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds prevail, which will help to prime us for our next round of shower and storm activity during the mid to late afternoon. This second round of scattered showers and storms will develop thanks to an approaching frontal boundary and the heating of the day. Some of the storms could be on the strong to marginally severe side, with gusty winds, small hail, and heavy rain possible. Outside of our chance for rain and storms, it will be another hot and humid one; highs will be in the low 90s like the last several days.
With all this being said, the best timeframe to walk your dog will be from about mid-morning through mid-afternoon. During that stretch, as mentioned before, it will be quite hot and humid; make sure to take some water along for you and your pup to stay cool. Have a great Thursday!
