DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Memorial Day is feeling and looking perfect for outdoor activities. Grill, swim, and play corn hole until you’re heart’s content! But don’t forget to celebrate responsibly and remember those who died for us to enjoy our freedoms as Americans. Highs will top out around 90 degrees this afternoon. A brief shower or two is possible.
Tuesday will bring us this week’s best rain chance at 40%. We’ll start the day in the upper 60s, peak in the upper 80s, and have showers in and around the region.
Wednesday will be primarily dry, but there is still a chance for a couple isolated showers. Temperatures will once again start in the upper 60s and peak around 90 degrees.
Thursday – Sunday are basically carbon copied forecasts from one day to the next. Morning lows will be around 70 degrees, afternoon highs will be in the low 90s, and we’ll have a 20% chance for rain each day.
Concerning the Tropics, Hurricane Agatha (in the Eastern Pacific Ocean) will make landfall in Mexico today. As it crosses Central America, it will either move into the Southern Gulf of Mexico (Bay of Campeche) or move into the Caribbean Sea. As it move toward the Florida Peninsula, a front should be crossing the Southeast US. This should keep the tropical system away from our area. We’ll monitor the situation as it develops over the next few days.
