ORIGINAL:

(WDHN) — A fire weather alert has been issued for the Wiregrass counties and western Florida.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for southeast Alabama and portions of the western Florida panhandle from Tuesday, September 27th, until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28th.

A Red Flag Warning indicates that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
