DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The last little bit of light rain is coming to an end this evening. Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies will prevail yet again as temperatures drop into the low 70s overnight.
A cold front will approach on Friday afternoon/evening and provide enough lift for a 70% chance of showers and storms. The front should end up just south of our area late Friday night and will become a focus for showers and storms on Saturday. Temperatures will be in the middle and upper 80s tomorrow due to the extensive cloud coverage and rain chances.
Saturday’s rain chances will be lower than the preceding days. We’ll put that rain chance at 40% for our coverage area, but rain chances will be quite a bit higher for those along the Florida Panhandle. Morning lows around 70 degrees will turn into afternoon highs around 90.
Sunday will be even drier with partly sunny skies and a 20% chance for a few lingering showers. Highs will peak in the low 90s.
Monday keeps our rain chance low (only 10%!), and our temperatures will be in the low to middle 90s with mostly sunny skies.
Tuesday and Wednesday have a 40% and 50% chance for showers and storms as moisture returns to the area due to high pressure over the Gulf of Mexico. Another cold front will drop down from the North, and this will provide the lift for showers both days. Highs will be in the low 90s Tuesday and upper 80s on Wednesday.
Thursday will only have a 30% chance for a few scattered showers/storms. Morning lows will start off around 70 degrees. Afternoon highs will peak in the upper 80s.
