DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Expect skies to become mostly sunny as we go through the day today. The cold front responsible for all of the rain and storms we saw yesterday will sweep through during the afternoon. Right along the frontal boundary, we may see an isolated shower or two develop, but nothing more than that. We’ll be warmer than previous days thanks to the fact that we’ll see more sunshine as most locations rise into the mid 80s for highs.
We’ll kick off Memorial Day weekend tomorrow with perfect outdoor weather! Sunny skies, comfortably warm temperatures, and low humidity will all be on tap as we climb from the low 60s into the mid 80s once again.
Sunday will feature equally pleasant and mostly dry weather with mainly sunny skies. Notice the emphasis on MOSTLY dry weather; an isolated shower or two cannot be ruled out for those near the Florida-Alabama border in southern Geneva and Houston counties. After beginning the morning in the mid 60s, we’ll ascend to the upper 80s.
Another round of mostly sunny skies and a chance for an isolated sprinkle or two can be expected on Memorial Day itself. We’ll start the day in the mid 60s once again; from there, we’ll take another trip up to the upper 80s.
Low-end rain chances will stay in the forecast Tuesday through Thursday as we settle into a typical summer-like pattern. Temperatures will remain around average for this time of year, with all three days featuring highs in the upper 80s/low 90s and lows in the mid to upper 60s.
