DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Temperatures will drop fast and far tonight. Lows will bottom out in the middle 20s, and a “Wind Chill Advisory” is in effect for the entire area from 1 AM to 10 AM Saturday morning for “feels like temperatures” between 10 and 20 degrees. Do your best to stay warm tonight, and be careful using indoor heating sources that could start a fire. Don’t put them near flammable objects, and make sure you unplug them when you leave your residence.

Saturday will start off very cold. “Feels like temperatures” will be around 15 degrees Saturday morning. Afternoon highs are only expected to move into the low and middle 40s despite abundant sunshine, and it will still feel like we’re in the middle 30s because of the wind. You’ll want the winter coat all day long!

Sunday will also be a beautiful day, but make sure to grab the winter coat if you plan on heading out the door early. Lows will be in the low and middle 20s, but highs will return to the middle 50s. A “Hard Freeze Warning” is in effect for the entire area from 1 AM – 7 AM CDT because temperatures will be below 28 degrees for an extended period of time.

Monday starts off in the middle or upper 30s. Sunny to mostly sunny skies will prevail once again, and highs will be in the middle 60s.

Tuesday warms us up even further with lows in the low 40s and highs in the middle 60s. Showers might be possible Tuesday night, but it looks unlikely right now.

Wednesday and Thursday will likely be the warmest days that we have had in a long time! Temperatures will start in the 50s and end up in the upper 60s during the afternoon. We’ll also bring in our first meaningful rain chances for the week with Wednesday at a 30% chance and Thursday at a 60% chance.

Friday still has at least a low-end chance for rain if the front hasn’t passed all the way through our area. But once the front does pass us, our temperatures will drop once again. Highs Friday will be in the 50s.

Next weekend looks like another cold one, so don’t forget where you put the winter coat after using it this weekend!
