DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A few showers will be possible tonight with temperatures in the 70s once again. If you catch a shower this evening, don’t expect it to stick around long or produce much rain. Enjoy your New Year’s Eve and celebrate safely!
New Year’s Day will be give us another record-breaking high temperature as we climb back into the 80s. A few showers will be possible here or there, but most of us will be dry during the day. Shower and storm chances will increase overnight into Sunday morning.
Sunday will start off with a bit of a bang. Storms could roll in just before sunrise and stick around through Noon. There is a chance we could have damaging winds and even an embedded tornado or two within this line of storms. Temperatures will start in the 70s and likely drop very quickly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Monday will start off in the middle 30s with breezy conditions that will make it feel more like the upper 20s. Sunny skies will prevail, and highs will be in the low to middle 50s.
Tuesday will also start off on the cool side, but it won’t be quite as breezy. Highs will rebound to the middle and upper 50s.
Wednesday is going to be a fairly seasonable day with lows in the low to middle 40s and highs in the middle 60s.
Thursday has a 30% chance for some shower activity. Highs will move up to the upper 60s.
Friday brings us back to the 30s during the morning hours and only brings our highs to the middle 50s with mostly sunny skies.
