DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– It is downright cold across the Wiregrass, as we are seeing temperatures in the low 40 and upper 40s across the tri-state region this morning. We had a cold front sweep through the area and we are about 15 degrees cooler than what we were yesterday morning. We are not going to escape the 50s as it is going to be a cooler but sunny day across the Wiregrass.
We are dealing with multiple threats today, as we are under a ‘Red Flag Warning’ where wildfire conditions are possible, and a ‘Freeze Warning’, where we can see temperatures at or below freezing as we go into tonight.
Wind gusts could be as high as 25-30 mph and due to ongoing drought conditions wildfires are going to be easy to spark up and spread due to those gusty winds. It is important you adhere to the state and local burn bans and be careful doing outdoor activities.
As always, I want everyone to stay safe, stay wrapped up and for more information watch us on WDHN.
