DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Scattered to numerous showers and storms can be expected during the afternoon hours today, so make sure to grab a rain jacket or umbrella if you’re planning on going out and about! Heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds will be possible at times with the strongest storms. Abundant cloud cover in combination with a lot of rain and storms will help keep our highs in the mid 80s.
Tuesday will be another wet day with a 60% chance for PM showers and storms. We’ll only rise into the mid 80s once again from the low 70s.
We’ll remain in this unsettled pattern for Wednesday and Thursday as well, with each day featuring a 70% chance for rain with some embedded storms. We’ll top out in the mid 80s once more on Wednesday. Thursday, though, will likely be quite a bit cooler as most locations only make it up to the 80-degree mark.
We’ll stay firmly entrenched in deep tropical moisture on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so expect rain chances to continue to run high at around 60% as we close out the work week and head into the weekend. Highs will climb a couple degrees into the mid 80s as a ridge over the western Atlantic builds in. Lows will remain in the 70s.
