DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today will be beautiful across the board with lots of sunshine! After starting off the morning chilly, we’ll rise into the low 80s during the afternoon hours.
Tuesday will likely be a bit warmer as a ridge briefly builds into the Southeast. We can expect to climb into the mid and upper 80s for the second day of the work week under mostly sunny skies.
Wednesday sees the return of a 50-50 chance for PM showers and storms to the forecast as a cold front approaches from the northwest. The upper-level dynamics associated with this front will remain off to our north, so none of these showers and storms are anticipated to carry any severe threat with them. Highs will drop to the low 80s with more clouds in place in combination with a decent coverage of rain.
A couple showers could linger into Thursday morning, so we’ll keep in a 30% chance for rain during that portion of the day before the front pushes out of our area to the east. High temperatures will remain seasonable behind the front in the low to mid 80s, with cooler and drier post-frontal air not arriving till the evening hours.
We’ll be fully immersed in this cooler and drier air starting on Friday. Expect afternoon highs only in the upper 70s as we wrap up the work week under sunny skies.
Saturday and Sunday will be a little warmer as highs return to the low 80s area-wide. Expect dry and sunny to mostly sunny conditions both days.
