DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — We’ve got a seasonably cool and very clear night on tap tonight. Lows will be around 40 degrees.
Friday will be sunny with temperatures in the low and middle 60s. Overall, it will be a great way to end the work week in terms of weather!
Saturday is when we expect the big change in weather. Temperatures will start off in the low 40s and peak in the middle 60s before the wet weather begins. The morning hours and first half of the afternoon should be dry, but shower activity will start during the late afternoon and early evening. The heaviest rain will move in late in the evening and stick around for much of the overnight hours. We could see 1-2″ of rain. There is a low-end severe weather threat for folks along the Florida Panhandle, so we will closely watch all of the storms that come onshore for any signs of rotation or gusty winds.
Sunday will have a high temperature in the 50s before daybreak, but we’ll actually spend most of the day in the 40s. Some lingering showers will be possible, and I won’t rule out some flurries. Any wintry weather will be highly dependent on the exact track of the center of low pressure.
Monday morning is when we clear out entirely and take another deep dive down into the 30s. Afternoon highs will be in the low 50s.
Tuesday is also expected to start near freezing and only move into the middle 50s with lots of sunshine.
Both Wednesday and Thursday have a 20% chance for some showers with highs around 60 degrees.
