DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today will be cool once again with a mix of sun and clouds. After beginning the morning in the upper 30s and low 40s, the majority of Wiregrass residents will likely only make it into the low to mid 50s during the afternoon hours.
Friday will start out with frost and maybe a freeze in some spots with temperatures down in the low 30s and maybe even the upper 20s. With this in mind, I would highly recommend keeping any outdoor pets indoors and bringing in any pets sensitive to the cold before heading off to bed tonight! We’ll rise to the mid 50s from there with more sunshine expected compared to past days.
We’ll climb from the mid 30s into the mid 50s again on Saturday. Cloud cover will move back in as a cold front pushes into the region. With a little moisture present ahead of the frontal boundary, there will also be a 20% chance for a few showers mainly for the southern portion of the Tri-State.
Sunday will feature similarly cool temperatures and partly cloudy skies as we dry out and turn a bit breezy post-front. Expect to wake up around 40 and ascend to the mid 50s once more.
We’ll start warming back up on Monday as highs return to the 60s for the first time in a while. Partly sunny skies will prevail.
Our next system moves in on Tuesday and brings us a 30% chance for showers. We’ll start off the morning milder in the low 40s and end up in the low 60s.
Wednesday keeps a low-end rain chance in the picture and continues our warming trend with morning lows in the middle 40s and afternoon highs climbing closer to seasonable levels as most locations reach the upper 60s.
