DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– We have reached record breaking territory across the Wiregrass as temperatures reached 101 degrees at the Dothan Regional Airport yesterday. This heat is going to continue as we are expected to remain extremely hot as we go into our weekend. Records are expected to be broken this week as temperatures are expected to be in the low 100s today, Saturday and Sunday. All of the state of Alabama is under some type of heat alert, the Circle City is under a heat advisory where heat indices are expected to be around 110 degrees today.

There is some semblance of a ‘cool down’ where temperatures are going to be in the mid 90s. While that is still above average we have to take what we can get across the Wiregrass as this heat has been relentless.

It is very important to stay hydrated, stay safe, and to never leave kids or pets inside of vehicles. Thanks for reading and for more information watch us on WDHN.
