DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today will be another mostly cloudy, cool, and wet day with a 60% chance for showers and a few storms during the afternoon hours. Expect highs to only reach the mid and upper 80s like yesterday.
Wednesday will also have a 60% chance for PM showers and a storm or two. We’ll take another trip up to the mid and upper 80s with clouds hanging tough across the region for much of the day again.
Thursday will likely be a bit wetter with a 70% chance for showers and storms as the trough currently overhead pulls in more Gulf moisture compared to the last couple days. We’ll rise into the mid 80s from the low 70s.
The aforementioned trough will finally weaken and push out as a ridge starts to build in on Friday. Normally, this would indicate a period of drier weather, but since we’ll be stuck in deep tropical moisture, this will not be the case. Thus, expect rain chances to continue to run high at around 60% as we close out the work week. Highs will remain below average in the mid to upper 80s.
Saturday will follow in a similar fashion to Friday, with another 60% chance for PM showers and storms. We’ll make it up to the mid and upper 80s once again after starting the morning in the 70s.
Sunday and Monday should be slightly drier with a little bit more sunshine and a 50-50 chance for rain each afternoon. Highs will be slightly warmer compared to the previous five days as most locations top out just shy of 90 degrees. Lows will remain solidly in the lower 70s.
