DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Mostly clear skies will prevail tonight as most locations fall into the low 70s.

FATHER’S DAY FORECAST: Things are looking mighty nice for any outdoor plans with Dad, as we’ll see sunny skies and entirely dry conditions all day! Thanks to a “cool” front that will pass through the area prior to sunrise, slightly “cooler” temperatures and lower dewpoints will be on tap, with highs in the mid and upper 90s expected. Dewpoints will fall into the 60s, making for a much more comfortable day overall.

We’ll see similar conditions on Monday as we take a trip solidly into the mid 90s for afternoon highs under mostly sunny skies. Once again, we’ll be bone dry across the board.

We’ll rise back into the upper 90s on Tuesday afternoon after starting the morning in the low 70s. There will be a low-end chance for a shower during the afternoon.

Wednesday and Thursday are the two days when things really start to heat up, as we can expect to make it up into the low 100s both days for highs. Even though it will be extremely hot, the good news is, it won’t feel quite as muggy as last week since dewpoints won’t be as high. This does mean, though, that heat index values will likely trend closer to the actual air temperature, so it is still extremely important that you drink lots of water, take frequent breaks, and wear loose-fitting clothing if you have any plans to be outdoors! Aside from the temperatures, we’ll see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and isolated shower chances both days.

Rain chances will go up into the 30-40% range Friday and Saturday as a frontal system makes its way in from the north. With better chances for showers and storms entering the picture by this point, we’ll likely see a little relief from the heat as highs drop back into the mid and upper 90s. Lows will be in the mid 70s.
