DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Temperatures are cooler in the 40s this morning thanks to a cold front that pushed through the region overnight, so make sure to have something warm to wear as you head out the door! We’ll slowly warm up as we go through the next couple hours under mainly sunny skies.

Expect plentiful sunshine to stick around for the afternoon as well. Thanks to the cooler and drier air that moved in behind the front, we’ll also see little to no cloud cover and below-average high temperatures for this time of year, with the majority of us only topping out in the mid 60s.

We’ll start out a little cooler in the mid 40s for Saturday. As we go through the rest of the day, we’ll see sunshine for the most part once again, with a few fair weather clouds possibly in the mix for the afternoon. Highs will be on the cool side once again in the mid 60s.

Pleasant weather will continue for Sunday as well, albeit with a little more cloud cover and slightly warmer temperatures. We’ll begin the day in the 50s and return to the 70s during the second half of the day under partly sunny skies.

As we go into Monday, our focus will shift to our next cold front expected to move through the Tri-State. The moisture in advance of it, although pretty limited once again, will be just enough to support the chance for a few showers, mainly as the front sweeps through during the morning. Thus, we’re keeping rain chances on the lower end for now at around 30%. Expect high temperatures to drop back down to the low to mid 60s.

In wake of this front, expect another shot of cooler and drier air to push in as we head into Tuesday. Most spots will start off the day very cold in the mid 30s, so we will definitely need to monitor the potential for frost area-wide! Despite seeing abundant sunshine for the much of the day, afternoon highs will only make it to the mid 50s.

Wednesday morning will likely feature our coldest temperatures so far this fall, as most locations fall to the low 30s! With this in mind, we may have the potential for a freeze across much of the region, so stay tuned for the latest updates! Thankfully, as we go through the rest of the day, we’ll warm up a little bit back to the 60s under mostly sunny skies.

THANKSGIVING FORECAST: Expect mostly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures relative to earlier in the week. We’ll begin the morning around 40 degrees and reach the upper 60s during the second half of the day.
