DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Much of the light rain that we saw today has moved to the east of our area, but there are a couple spots of drizzle that are still hanging around. These will likely move out too as we go through the evening hours, with the cloud cover also clearing out later on as a cold front quickly sweeps through the region. In wake of this front, cooler and drier air will filter in, so expect our overnight lows to drop down to the upper 30s. Patchy dense fog will also be possible prior to sunrise.
Therefore, make sure to bundle up as you head out the door Monday morning! The good news is, as we go through the rest of the day, you’ll be able to shed anything warm you wear early on, as temperatures will warm up nicely for the afternoon hours into the low 60s with abundant sunshine.
We’ll drop right back down for Tuesday morning though, starting the day even colder in the mid 30s! With this in mind, areas of frost (and maybe a light freeze) will be possible, so make sure to bring in any outdoor pets and plants before you head to bed the night prior. Temperatures once again though will rebound nicely for the second half of the day, with most locations reaching the mid 60s under sunny skies.
A trend towards warmer temperatures will then begin as we head into Wednesday. We’ll start the morning in the low 40s and return to the 70s by the afternoon with sunshine and a few fair weather clouds.
Thursday will keep this general pattern rolling. Expect to begin the day slightly warmer in the mid 40s and top off in the low to mid 70s with plentiful sunshine.
Friday will feature much of the same, but with a little more fair weather cloud cover. We’ll start off the day in the upper 40s and make it up to the mid 70s during the afternoon hours.
Our focus then turns to a frontal system heading our way for Saturday. The moisture content with it is still looking relatively low, so we’re keeping those rain chances isolated at best for now. Otherwise, expect a further increase in cloud cover and above-average high temperatures in the mid 70s once again.
After this front clears our area, temperatures won’t cool very much. Additionally, some of the cloud cover will stick around a little bit too for next Sunday. We’ll begin the day back down in the 40s and reach the low 70s for our highs by the afternoon.
