DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Fall-like weather is in full swing this morning, as most spots have dropped down into the mid 50s. You’ll definitely need a light jacket if you’re going out and about early on in the day! In addition to cooler temperatures, drier air has also moved in behind the cold front from yesterday, so we’ll see sunny skies across the board as we go through the rest of the morning.
This wall-to-wall sunshine will continue as we go throughout the rest of the day. High temperatures will be seasonably and refreshingly cooler in the mid to upper 70s, and with dewpoints down in the 50s for most of us, this will make for a great day to get outdoors. We’ll also continue to see breezy conditions, with 10-15 mph sustained northerly winds for much of the afternoon.
Friday morning will likely be our coolest morning overall, with many locations bottoming out in the low 50s. Some upper 40s may not be out of the question in the northern counties if the wind subsides a little bit! After this cool start, we can expect sunny skies and beautiful weather once again for much of the afternoon. Highs will be a touch warmer in the upper 70s to near 80.
Sunny and dry weather will stick around for the weekend as well. High temperatures will gradually warm each day, with Saturday featuring low 80s and Sunday mid 80s.
As high pressure settles in to kick off next week, our extended stretch of dry weather will continue, with mostly sunny skies on tap for Monday through Wednesday. With this high pressure system moving in, highs will continue their upward trend back to near normal values, with mid to upper 80s expected for each afternoon.
