DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Much of the Wiregrass sat in the upper 30s and low 40s today, which is about 20-25 degrees below our average high for this time of year. The below average temperatures aren’t going anywhere any time soon, so bundle up this week!! A few light showers or a mist will be possible through the overnight hours tonight. Temperatures will stay just above freezing.

Saturday will be another very chilly day. A couple spots could see a light mist early in the morning, but it will be unlikely. Mostly cloudy skies will start clearing out during the afternoon hours, and temperatures will be in the middle 40s.

Sunday will start off COLD! Expect lows in the middle and upper 20s with feels like temps in the low and middle 20s across the Tri-State. With plenty of sunshine, we will climb to the low 50s, but that is still 10 degrees below average.

Monday morning will once again be cold with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. Clouds will gradually return as we go through the day. Highs will peak in the middle 50s.

Tuesday will actually be an above average start with lows in the low and middle 40s. We’ll likely start off with some showers, and the rain will continue through a good portion of the day. We should dry out during the late afternoon and evening hours. Highs will only be in the middle 50s.

Wednesday morning will be back down in the middle and upper 30s. Highs will only make it to the low 50s with a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day.

Thursday could start off in the 20s, but we’re a little too far out to tell right now. Expect it to be fairly cold not just in the morning, but also in the low 50s.

Friday’s lows in the middle 30s and high around 50s won’t seem like anything out of the ordinary because it will be the 8th or 9th day out of about 10 days where we had both below average low and high temperatures. Rain could return later on Friday. We’ll be monitoring this system closely.

Temperatures next weekend could rival what we expect for lows this weekend. It doesn’t look like the cold air is moving out any time soon.
