WDHN Storm Team: Showers and storms; eye on the Tropics

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Tonight should be mainly dry with some patchy fog. Lows will be in the low 70s.

Friday will be another rainy day, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be in the low 90s much like today.

Saturday and Sunday will also be in the low 90s. Rain chances are at 50% both days. Sunday might be a little drier, but we’ll keep it at 50% for now.

Monday will start off the next work week with more low to moderate rain chances and highs in the low 90s.

Tuesday’s rain chance of 30% and a high temp in the low 90s perfectly characterizes yet another day in the SE U.S.

Wednesday will keep around low rain chances and temperatures around 90 degrees for a majority of the area.

Thursday will be in the upper 80s with a 20% chance for rain.

Concerning the Tropics, models have been pointing to a potential tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico late next week and/or over the weekend. The most likely placement of a potential system currently looks like the western half of the Gulf, but we won’t rule out a chance for the eastern half. If you have plans for the beach, make sure to keep checking with us for the latest on the Tropics especially at the start of next week.
