WDHN Storm Team: Storms roll in mid-week

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — We’ve got a quiet and much cooler night ahead of us tonight. Skies will be mostly clear, and temperatures will be in the middle 50s.

Tuesday will be dry with mostly sunny skies. The cold front will have passed all the way through at this point, so our afternoon highs will only make it to the middle 70s.

Wednesday will also be in the middle 70s, but we will add in more clouds and even an isolated shower chance during the day. The best chance for showers and storms comes after midnight through the early morning hours on Thursday. Some of these storms will be on the strong side, with the main threat being very gusty winds. We don’t have all of the ingredients to produce widespread severe weather, but it’s definitely a night where you’ll want to know the latest WDHN forecast before heading to bed.

Thursday will start off with showers and some strong storms. Temperatures will begin in the middle 60s and make it back to the middle 70s. A few sprinkles might hang around the area throughout the day on Thursday after the main line has already passed.

Friday could also see a couple light sprinkle if get enough wrap-around moisture on the backside of the system. Northern AL and GA have a much better chance of seeing these light showers on Friday compared to us. Temperatures will start in the low to middle 50s and only climb to the 60s.

Saturday and Sunday will both be dry, mostly sunny, and fairly chilly for much of the day. Morning lows will be in the 40s with highs in the middle and upper 60s. Evening will primarily be in the 50s, so take that into account when trick-or-treating!

Monday should start off our next work week just right with lows in the upper 40s, highs in the low 70s, and plenty of sunshine to go around!
