WDHN Storm Team: Warm for Thanksgiving, but chilly air returns soon

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — We briefly dropped into the upper 30s this morning, but 40s are becoming more widespread now that the sun has risen! Clouds will build into the region throughout the day, and temperatures will peak close to 70 degrees this afternoon. The evening will be much warmer than average, so don’t be afraid to spend a little time outdoors!

A cold front will move through tonight, and it will bring a low-end chance for showers and some lower temperatures. Friday’s high temperature will only be in the upper 50s, so be prepared to bundle up!

Saturday starts off extra chilly once again. Morning lows will be in the low to middle 30s, and highs will surpass the 60 degree mark for a brief period.

Sunday is when the forecast gets a little tricky. The models that were predicting a lot of rain have now tapered back those rain chances quite a bit, but we’re going to leave a 20% chance for showers in the forecast for now. That rain chance will likely fluctuate as we get more data, so stay tuned for the latest. Temperatures are currently expected to start in the low 40s and climb to the low and middle 60s.

Monday will be a nice but cool day despite plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will start around 40 degrees and end up in the low 60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will both start in the 40s and easily make it to the middle 60s with lots of sunshine!
