DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Widespread showers and storms will be likely once again today. Some of the storms could be on the strong side, with gusty winds and pockets of heavy rainfall possible. Abundant cloud cover in combination with plenty of showers and storms will keep our highs pinned down to the mid and upper 80s area-wide.

A cold front will sag southward into our area on Friday. This front will provide the forcing necessary for another round of numerous showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon hours. Much like today, the majority of the region will only make it up to the upper 80s at most.

The front should be pushing into the Florida Panhandle on Saturday, but just in case it lags a little bit behind, we’ve put in a 40% chance for afternoon showers and storms. Highs will be right around the 90-degree mark.

With drier air and lower humidity values settling in post-front, some locations will likely start off Sunday in the upper 60s! The rest of the day will feature partly sunny skies and only a 20% chance for showers. We’ll rise into the low 90s from that cool start mentioned above.

Monday will likely be our driest day this week, with only an isolated shower possible at best. Otherwise, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will prevail as we again climb into the low 90s.

Rain chances will go back up to 40% for Tuesday and Wednesday as another trough makes its way in. Highs will again be in the low 90s.
