ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The Enterprise Chamber of Commerce held its Peanuts & Politics candidate forum Thursday morning in advance of the May 24th state primary.
In one hotly-contested race, three republican candidates are trying to succeed State Senate Dean Jimmy Holley of Elba is not seeking re-election to District 31.
That district encompasses all of Covington, Coffee, and Pike counties, in addition to the northern half of Dale County.
State Representative Mike Jones of Andalusia has held several leadership roles in the House since first being elected in 2010.
Josh Carnley of Coffee County’s Ino community has been a county commissioner for a decade. He’s also a farmer and insurance company owner.
Stormin Normin’ Horton is a retired small business owner out of Dale County’s Echo community.
If none of the three candidates has 50% (plus one) of the vote on May 24, a runoff between the top two vote-getters will be held on Tuesday, June 21st.
