HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — After over a decade, Houston County District 2 has a new commissioner.

Tracy Adams won Tuesday’s Republican Primary Election against challenger Chris Love. Adams stepped into the race after the incumbent for District 2, Doug Sinquefield decided not to run for re-election, so he could run for the chairman seat. He was elected to District 2 in 2010.

Adams tells WDHN that once he is in office, wants to see more careers come to the county. He will keep a close eye on how funds are being spent, to make sure the county money is being spent appropriately.

“I want to be a county commissioner for the people of District 2,” Adams said. “If you have a problem, we have a problem and we are going to see how to make it work, to fix it.”

Adams is looking forward to taking office and getting to work giving the people not only in District 2 but the whole county someone they can support and be proud of.
