(WDHN) — Polls have closed for the Georgia primary and special elections, which means history has been made in Donalsonville, and a new member has joined the council state in Blakely.

In Blakely, two candidates, Brad Clenney and Tracy Robinson, were running for the District 2 Posts 1 Council Seat. With polls closed, votes have been counted and the results are in: the District 2 Post 1 Council Seat now belongs to Brad Clenney.

According to Secretary of State’s office, all of the votes have been recorded for Donalsonville’s mayor race, including absentee votes.

Donalsonville will have its first African American as Mayor as Ron Johnson won the historical election.

According to Johnson, he plans to focus on youth development and business growth for the city.
